READING   COMPREHENSION ,   6TH PRIMARY,

UNIT  6  "Think  green"

Today is  Monday   31st of  May and  in the second  week of June  we will celebrate the  “Green  Week''  at school  and we  are  going to have some activities related to the environment. By the  way, I  am  Martina, and  I  am from Spain.

We  are   going to calculate how much  we can save in energy  if  we make some small changes in our  everyday life.

First of all In Language  we are going to make a survey about good uses at home, also we are going to plant vegetables in the school orchard  and we  are going to play   many games.

At  school  we are  not  going to use  plastic  bags  anymore, and the  paper is recycled.

Did   you know that  you are going to use 200 liters of water  every 10 minutes of shower? So…. short showers  please,  and  do  not  forget  to close the tap   while  you are brushing  your teeth.

And what about the oil  we use  in the kitchen¡¡¡, there  are  two  solutions. We are going to  make  homemade  soap or you are going to  recycle in a proper place.

Secondly I am not going to forget  to turn off  the lights when not in use  and  I  am  going to use  energy  efficient bulbs.

Finally In my house we all  love plants and flowers, and we  are  going to design  a garden. My mother is a  designer. We are  going to  collect  water  from rain, we are going to water at  sunset  and  we are going to make compost from organic trash.
